Critical Issues: Right of Way

There is a belief among some residents and/or owners that properties extend to the edge of the Orchidland roads. This has led to various additions into what is called the Right of Way (ROW). The ROW extends roughly from electric poles in the front of a properties and encompasses the road up to the property line (pole) on the opposite side of the street. The ROW’s are a critical aspect of safe roads and driving. They are a legally mandated section of land that must be maintained uniformly. Landscaping – whether present at time of purchase or not – are expressly forbidden. This includes rocks lining the road, engineered ditches, parking of abandoned vehicles, collection’s of trash, or the placement of tires and other impediments into the open space.
